General information
Larnaca was previously considered not the most attractive place for tourist trips. The local administration began to actively solve this problem by organizing numerous sports competitions (both domestic and international). And the convenient location of the settlement and climatic conditions contribute to this. After all, here already at the end of winter and at the beginning of spring — the most favorable and comfortable temperature for sports competitions. List of events
In the period from February to April, sports tournaments in the following disciplines are planned to be held in Larnaca:

• karate;
• cycling (mountain);
• break dancing;
• sambo;
• tennis;
• sports shooting;

• dance competition.
Judo
The tournament took place just a few days ago, almost 700 athletes aged 8 to 21 actively took part in it. Almost half are foreigners (Europe, Asia, America).
Karate
It takes place from 3 to 5 February at the Kition Sports Complex. The participants are young men aged 16 to 21. The tournament is organized by the local sports federation.
Cycling (mountain)
It runs from February 4 to February 11. The route covers as many as 9 villages located in the area of mountain ranges (eastern and southern part of the region).
Break dancing
For the first time in 2023, a “breaking” competition will be held in Larnaca. And this is due to the fact that these dances were included in the list of Olympic disciplines (starting from 2024). The competitions will be held on February 11 and 12. So far, about 100 participants from different countries of the world have been registered to participate in them.
Sambo
The competition will be held from 22 to 24 February. There are about 200 participants (from 15 different countries of the world). And in order to attract tourists, training camps and demonstration fights are also planned here.
Tennis
The European Open Tennis Championship for children under 16 will be held in Larnaca from March 25 to April 1.
Sports shooting
The ISSF SKET-TRAP class tournament will be held from March 25 to April 3. And this is one of the most grandiose sporting events. At least in terms of the number of planned visits among tourists.
Running
The 4-kilometer race will be held on April 8 and 9 in Lefkara. Any athlete (including foreigners) can register as a participant.
Football
The Women’s Football Cup among women’s teams is played from February 13 to 23. By the way, this event is considered one of the most prestigious in Europe in this class.
Dance competition
From April 21 to 23, an international dance competition will be held in Cyprus for the first time in history. About 200 foreign participants have already registered to participate in it.
